    J. Williams, MBA, is the firm’s chief executive officer and chief investment officer, as well as the founder of Williams Financial, LLC.  He is an investment advisor representative registered with the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont.  He earned an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He earned his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont.  He is currently enrolled in the Boston Institute of Finance at Boston University where he is completing course work toward his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. He has earned multiple licenses in financial services including the Series 7, 63, and 66 FINRA licenses.

    Mr. Williams has been a financial services professional for more than 15 years. He started his career as a bank manager at a regional community bank with deposits of more than $90 million.  He was rapidly promoted to marketing director where his responsibilities included overseeing the sales and marketing efforts for the deposits, lending, and investment divisions. In 2003 he left banking to manage an independent broker/dealer, overseeing operations, finance, and compliance as well as counseling his clients. In 2005 he opened Williams Financial Management, LLC – an independent, fee-only, registered investment advisory firm that provides financial guidance and oversight to individuals, families, and businesses throughout the country.

    Mr. Williams has served on several community boards including: North Bennington Graded School (NBGS) – Vice-Chair (publicly elected position); NBGS Governance and Sustainability Subcommittee – Chair; Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union – Board Member; Southern Vermont College – Trustee; Southern Vermont College Presidential Search Committee – Member; Bennington Area Dollars for Scholars – President; and Better Bennington Corporation – Secretary and Director.

    Beyond the financial markets, Mr. Williams has taken his knowledge and experience into the classroom and previously held the position of Department Chairperson – Entrepreneurship at Hudson Valley Community College, a SUNY College.  Further, he has taught several business courses at Castleton University, Community College of Vermont, and Southern Vermont College.  Mr. Williams lives in North Bennington, Vermont with his wife and two sons.

    Daryl Spirka CFP®, CPA, is a financial planner and investment advisor in the firm’s Bennington, Vermont and Leominster, Massachusetts offices.  She assists clients with tax planning, financial planning, and investment management.  She is a CPA in the state of Vermont and holds the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).  She is an investment advisor representative registered with the states of Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont.

    Mrs. Spirka has earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and has over 20 years of diverse tax experience with small businesses and individuals, as well as financial planning.  Mrs. Spirka is an integral part of the firm’s lifestyle financial planning team.

    She resides in Wilmington, Vermont with her husband.

    Larry Hart, AAMS, is the firm’s portfolio manager and head trader.  He is an investment advisor representative registered with the states of South Carolina and Pennsylvania.  He began working with the firm in 2015.  He has been in the financial services industry since 1990, when he started as a registered representative with a small broker/dealer.  He entered the industry with a desire to help others reach their goals, while guiding them in the financial markets.

    Mr. Hart graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a minor in Industrial Psychology.  He has earned multiple licenses in financial services including the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 FINRA licenses and a life insurance license.  He attained the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) certification from the College for Financial Planning.

    Mr. Hart has developed several tactical investment analysis models, including Style Rotation and Sector Rotation.  The Style Rotation and Sector Rotation models strive to be invested in the areas of strength and outperformance.

    In 2011, Mr. Hart and his family relocated to a town near Spartanburg, South Carolina.  He lived most of his life in eastern Pennsylvania.  When he isn’t working, you can usually find Larry spending time with his wife Cindy, riding his bicycle, gardening, woodworking, and tinkering on the family cars.  He serves on the board of the Freewheelers of Spartanburg, a local organization that promotes bicycling.  Larry is a regular blood donor, having earned his 6-gallon pin.

    Kristin Reed, CFP®, CPA, is the senior financial planner in the firm’s Albany, New York and Bennington, Vermont offices.  She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, obtained her CPA license in 1989, and her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification in 2001.  She is an investment advisor representative registered with the states of Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont.

    Ms. Reed is a retired CPA with years of valuable experience in providing tax and financial planning services to individuals and small business owners in Vermont and New York.  After 18 years as a managing partner of Fisk, Reed and Love—a CPA practice providing tax planning and compliance services—Ms. Reed sold her interest and started Financial Planning for Independence, Inc., a fee-only financial planning and financial education firm located in Bennington.

    Ms. Reed’s passion for working with individual clients and offering educational programs had left her little time for the day-to-day management of her business and she joined Williams Financial Management, LLC in 2015.  By joining the firm, she now devotes 100% of her time to her clients and promoting personal finance education programs.

    Bob Powell, CFP® is a senior financial planner in the firm’s Melrose, Massachusetts office.  In 2007, Mr. Powell retired from his career in the technology industry and dedicated his time to financial planning.  He works with clients on the full range of financial planning topics and is experienced with stock option plans.  He is an investment advisor representative registered with the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

    An East Boston resident, Mr. Powell graduated from the Financial Planning Program at Boston University and holds the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®).  He holds a Bachelor degree in Management from Leslie College in Boston.

    Mr. Powell has a diverse management and technical background.  Prior to becoming a quality assurance manager with Adobe, he held positions with Digital, Sybase, Allaire, and Macromedia.

    Paul Adams assists clients with lifestyle financial planning and investment management in the Albany, New York office.  He is an investment advisor representative in the state of New York and holds his FINRA Series 65 Investment Advisor license. In addition, Mr. Adams has earned a Bachelor degree in Computer and Systems Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

    Along with lifestyle financial planning and investment management at Williams Financial, Paul serves as a Global Product Manager for General Electric.  Since 2002, he has been an adjunct instructor for the Marketing Department of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York, teaching courses in Business Management and Marketing.

    Nancy Hurley, EA, has over 30 years’ of experience in accounting, tax, and office administration.  She is an enrolled agent, certified by the Internal Revenue Service in tax matters.  Mrs. Hurley is based in the Bennington, Vermont office as operations manager, and oversees operations and customer service for both the Albany, New York and Bennington, Vermont offices.

    She lives in Bennington, Vermont with her husband and daughter.

    Mary Rogers is a tax specialist in the firm’s Bennington, Vermont office. She assists clients with executive planning, financial reporting, forecasting, bookkeeping and controller functions, and payroll and benefits management. Further, she helps individuals and small businesses with income tax preparation. Mary holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Delaware.

    Mrs. Rogers has nearly 30 years of experience in business management and accounting services in several industries, and most recently served as vice president of finance and administration for Sysco Albany. She was general manager of a food distribution company in Bangor, Maine. In addition, she led the accounting and finance teams in a Los Angeles business involved in food manufacture restaurants and retail shops. She also has experience in banking and economic forecasting.

    Mrs. Rogers serves as the Treasurer for the Village of North Bennington, North Bennington Graded School District, Bennington Rotary, and the John G. McCullough Free Library.

    Mrs. Rogers resides in North Bennington, Vermont with her husband, Mark, and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities.
